Shirts

So this year I am a Student Body Officer at Viewmont High School. For design. And I love it! What a great excuse I now have to do art. For my entire school. So here are two designs I've done so far for T- shirts.

Our mascot is the Viking and our school year's theme is live long and conquer. (It's a Star Trek reference if you didn't know). This is the school shirt design:

This next one is for Senior Committee:

Top 5 Kisses

Everyone needs this. I definitely need this. So here it is:
The Top 5 Most Beautiful, Memorable, Impressionable, Lovely Kisses In All of Movie History

Starting at number 5:
An Affair to Remember. Nothing says romantic like a kiss with a stranger, when you're engaged. Plus she is a beautiful independent redhead. Nothing wrong with that.  (this photo is post kiss)

Number 4:
Ever After. The kiss of love. A prince and a peasant always equals the most juicy of juice kisses.

Number 3: Definitely Maybe. Alright this movie has 3 different lovely kisses with 3 different women. But the common factor? Is Ryan Reynolds. If only there were 4. And I was the 4th. Yum.
Number 2: Somewhere in time. Though his love for her verges on serious obsession, this kiss is so soft and wonderful. I die every time I watch this. In fact, I replay this scene multiple times. I'm so sappy. So what?

Number 1: This is the kiss of all movie kisses. From the french movie Amelie (watched it edited). It is so soft, so sultry, so unexpected, and with the perfect amount of build up. Now I'm no critic of kisses, but I know a good kiss when I see one, and this one is magnificent. Watch this scene. Some may disagree. But they are strangers and she has been looking for him for a long time. Watch the movie.

If you can't tell I've been watching a lot of chick flicks. In fact, the guys at blockbuster know my name. This is not a joke. And I always come in with no makeup and sweats on. So they probably think I just had a major breakup. Nah, I haven't. I don't even have an excuse for being this pathetic.

You've got a friend in me

(print by Shirae)

An ode to friends.
I like the ones who call just to call
I like the ones who eat with you even though they already ate
I like the ones who do silly things, typical movie chick flick ideas that I want to do
I like the ones who are always there to hear the same problems I always talk about
I like the ones who have the same dream crush (but only the unreachable ones like Jude Law)
I like the ones who tell you when you have something in your teeth
I like the ones who laugh at your expense.
I like the ones who always include, never make you feel like you said something stupid
I like the ones who can tell if your upset and talk to you about it in secret.
I like the ones you can trust.
I like the ones I like.

Squirrel Campaign

Once upon a time there was this squirrel who couldn't find his lady squirrel because she got lost in the woods.
He searched high and low (but mostly low, he wasn't a flying squirrel) and couldn't seem to find her.
He went to a park.
He saw a man talking on this flat box. He asked if he could borrow it, in the only way he could.
He bit the man, gave him rabies, and directly after he ran away.
He called the operator. She didn't understand squirrel. So it didn't work.
But it surely would have if the lady squirrel had a phone.
So the squirrel asked me to start a campaign.

In other news:
There once was a redhead who thought this story was funny when she typed it up. Excuse her.
Love,
Nicole

So I'm totally wondering if I should change my blah-de-blah hair for this fantastic do. Of course, my natural red isn't thaaat red, but the blonde on the bottom is gnarly. If any are opposed speak now. Here's a photo of me, just so's you nose.

(I'm the one with the Fire Locks)

So yeah,  thats the plan. I'm excited, and scared, but more excited. It's either this, short hair like this:
But, for the sake of my high school dating life, I'll save it. Till I move to France. And eat bread all day. Slash I do look a tad better with longer hair.

Miss Caitlin

This may sound like an excuse, but I actually like how unproportional (though that isn't a word) it turned out. I like how geometric it looks, yeah?
Alright,

Mobile

So I'm trying to channel my inner craft lately, and its both a reward and a frustration. It's mostly frustrating because I'll try to move this, or sew that, or hang that, and it won't blasted work!

Today's craft is a Mobile. I'm saying "today's" like I do this often, I wish I did, but I get busy, so maybe I'll attempt to do more. Anyways, I cut out different things I liked, and lots of colorful paper, then sewed them together. I'm actually in love with what the sewing machine does on paper. Fab.

So then I took a wire hanger, and turned the wire so they were together, then wrapped it with blue string. And Voila, a Mobile was brought to pass.

So here it is:
A nice little close up, if you wanted one.
My messy vanity, which is now on the internet FOREVER.

So that is that.
Oh, and this is a wall in my bedroom, random, but I thought a nice little room tour would be nice. I should have cleaned for visitors! Drat. Next time.

With Love,
Nicole

Animusic #2

Time for your weekly brilliance! That's right. I have decided to make this an official event. (if I can remember) So today, your daily overdose of musical and animatical (if only that was a word) genius is:

Architecture In Helsinki's :.:.:.: Like It Or Not

Who doesn't love dancing, moving, loving, pieces of embroidery? Yell it! WE LOVE!

Everything to Love

So lately I've been up to no good, thinking of ways I can up my game in the fashion world. I won't ignore the fact that I'm a little obsessed, but I can't help it. It's love. So here are a couple of things I WILL be purchasing once I find a way to make more money:

I'm not sure how I would wear this beautiful halo, but I most definitely will. I'd feel like a flowery princess. And that's that.

Who wouldn't love a DRESS with Frida Kahlo on it? nobody. Except me, and other Artsy weirdos. Okay, so she has a uni brow, that only adds to the funk.

These are fantastic, I would wear them hiking, walking a dog, jump roping, working out, to prom, shopping, baking, and eating. And then some.

Of course I would need a longer, less wispy version, but I am very very VERY tempted to chop my hair, and try to look as good as Leslie Caron.

These would not be worn all together, but boy would they all be worn.
Love,
Nicole-odeon

Old Art, New Art, Red Art, Blue Art

Sorry for this weekly lack of posts, I happened to be in Bear Lake, which was very fun I might add.
I thought I might share this old art piece I did a while ago, I really need to start using my scanner, and getting some more stuff up in this blogosphere.(That is a word I got from my friend Lexi's Long Dictionary Of Misfitted and New Words) So here it is:
Lots of mixed media with this one: Watercolor, Ink, Oil Paint, some Acetone Transfer for the light shading, and some Colored Pencil. So with all that said, this piece did make it into the Springville Art Show, that makes momma proud. Though it was on the downstairs level  in the corner, this year my piece will be so grand it will hang in the lobby, for all of eternity. They won't be able to take it down. And I'll price it for 1000 Bucks. There.

Alright, Peace Out Boy Scout.

From Sea to Shining Sea

Since the 4th of July is coming up so soon, I thought I might just pay a little tribute to this Country. I'm not going all patriotic, in fact I thought this picture was cool enough, but America is a great country, and yes I'm proud to be an American. So before I start crying, I thought it would be more interesting if I told a very embarassing story that happen about this time four years ago:

Once upon a time I went to a very fun water park. They had this ride that I called the Heart-Stopper, because it literally stopped a man's heart a couple years earlier. It was a straight drop, you were basically hovering over the actual slide, you were going so fast. So I went down the Heart-Stopper, and when I hit the water I felt my thighs touch my back, I had snapped over so far.

I got up, in a lot of pain, (side note: There were people lined up around the landing of the slide, all staring at me) and slowly grabbed my mat. The lifeguard stared at me and was yelling "excuse me" about 5 times, but I happened to be oblivious becuase of my throbbing back pain.

I finally looked up at him, and he said "your top is down." Yes, that's right, my swimsuit had come undone, and the top had been down for what seemed to be the longest 20 seconds of my life.

I finally figured out that the people weren't gasping at my cirque de soleil backbend, but my starch white front. Nice.

Have a wonderful Fourth of July!
